Hello, I'm Ava
Project manager. Parent. An expat based in San Diego, United States.
Several years ago, I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary assignment gradually became a new chapter of life overseas.
How It Started
Moving to United States wasn't in the long-term plan. Like many expat moves, it began as a work opportunity and soon grew into something far more significant.
The initial months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, new routines, new expectations. Everyday tasks felt more complex than they should.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, ambiguity, and a lot of learning by doing. But gradually, routines formed. We discovered places that worked for us, met other families, and started building something that felt stable.
Why I Built Velnel Velmun Arnox
Most information online was either corporate-level relocation advice or surface-level tourism material. What was missing was honest, day-to-day family perspective.
This site aims to close that gap — practical guidance based on real life in United States.
What This Site Is (And Isn't)
This site IS:
- Hands-on experience from residing in United States
- Centered on family living and everyday truths
- Updated whenever a real change occurs
This site ISN'T:
- Not a tourism authority resource
- Not a sponsored review platform
- Not a generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our stay in United States goes on, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains helpful, I’ll continue recording what we uncover.
If you have questions about family life in San Diego or anywhere in United States, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Best regards,
Ava
